About 1-on-1 Learning
For some students, the actions, interactions and perhaps even the tumult of a traditional classroom make learning difficult and even impossible. In a 1-on-1 setting, students have the constant attention of the teacher so that they can listen and speak with much more comfort than in a group situation. Each student’s strengths and non-strengths are addressed more consistently and fully without the distraction of other students or the teacher’s compensation for different levels in one classroom. Each student can learn at his or her own pace and have the benefit of the tutor adapting to their individual learning style.
We educate students with a broad range of abilities – whether gifted, learning disabled, visually impaired, hearing-impaired, ADHD, Asperger’s, or those simply in need of some academic support.
Private tutoring, whether in-person or online, is the gold standard of test preparation and academic coaching. With today’s heavy course loads and numerous extracurricular activities, even the highest-achieving students sometimes find themselves needing assistance.
Some students benefit from weekly lessons, while others need only intermittent support. Because we don’t require an upfront commitment to a package of lessons, we provide only the amount of help you ask for. We can focus exclusively on content or include organizational and study skills as well. Whether a student is cramming for an AP test or struggling to write a paper, we will be happy to discuss their situation and recommend a solution.
